At the center, social integration of children and adolescents who suffer from some intellectual disability or development disorders will be promoted.

Ramon Molinas Foundation will invest a third of the 90,000 euros necessary to materialize the rehabilitation of the headquarters of the Therapeutic Care Service (SAT), that the Aspanias association has in Barcelona. The center, located in the neighbourhood of Raval, will ensure to promote the social integration of children over 6 years old and adolescents who suffer from some intellectual disability or development disorders.

At the Therapeutic Care Service, psychological service, speech service, pedagogical attention service, social attention service, physiotherapy and music therapy sessions will be offered. The center, where 240 individual sessions are expected to be fulfilled every month, will consist of six professionals and it is provided to be opened next December.

The Aspanias association, which assists over 400 people per year, has a long history. For more than fifty years they have been ensuring to improve the lives of people with an intellectual disability or development disorders, a fact that made them worthy of the Creu de Sant Jordi in 1987. Besides this service, Aspanias has a network of supervised flats, a Center of Development and Early Care (CDIAP), where children of both sexes are assisted from 0 to 6 years old, a psychology counselling service for adults, a leisure service, and a guidance and information service.
