Solmevis, still in its test phrase, is committed to improving the quality of life of people who suffer from or have recovered from cancer.
The Ramon Molinas Foundation, in collaboration with Fundacode and with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, is driving the creation of a virtual technological support platform for people who suffer from, or have recovered from, cancer. Solmevis, the name of the online forum, is based on the principles of integrative oncology and currently in its test phase.
Integrative oncology combines conventional medicine with other complementary remedies. The union between the two methodologies helps to improve the overall health of people who suffer from, or have recovered from, cancer. The discipline encourages improvements in diet, encourages physical exercise and finding emotional balance.
The project is supported by the Stress and health Research Group and the Lifestyle, Sport and Health Research Group, as well as the Psychology Faculty of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and relies on the close collaboration of medical staff at the Catalan Oncology Institute (ICO).
