The educational tool was awarded the prize as part of #SpinUOC 2021.
Educatool has been awarded the ‘Ramon Molinas Prize for best project with social impact’ as part of #SpinUOC 2021. Launched by Àlex Letosa, Educatool is an educational tool for parents, students and professionals working in psychology and education to help students reach their learning objectives. Using quantitative methodology, Educatool is a diagnostic tool that allows educators to evaluate the way students learn to get a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses and make decisions based on the advice provided by the platform.
The ‘Ramon Molinas Foundation prize for best project with social impact,’ endowed with €2,000, awards the idea that has the most positive impact on society and supports the greatest social transformation of all the #SpinUOC 2021 finalists. Xavier Cortés, Director of the Ramon Molinas Foundation, has applauded the work of the UOC for its support of entrepreneurship, highlighting the university’s potential for mobilising social impact. “In nine editions, the #SpinUOC has contributed to the emergence of an ecosystem of projects that has created an innovative and socially-conscious network of businesses. The winners have presented initiatives that are capable of launching innovative, inclusive, and sustainable solutions that respond to both current and future challenges.”
‘Prize for the best entrepreneurial project’ and ‘Audience award for the best presentation’
The eight finalists of the #SpinUOC 2021 competition presented their projects during an event held at the Antigua Fábrica Estrella Damm, which was live streamed to the audience. In addition to the ‘Ramon Molinas Foundation prize for best project with social impact’, winners were also announced for the ‘Prize for the best entrepreneurial project’, awarded to the most innovative idea, and the ‘Audience award for the best presentation’, which provides the audience with a chance to have their say and choose the finalist with the most engaging presentation.
The ‘Prize for the best entrepreneurial project’ was awarded to Xatkit, by Jordi Cabot. A jury made up of ten experts awarded the €3,000 prize to this open coding platform for building and embedding intelligent virtual assistants (chatbots) which can be adapted to the needs of any business or organisation. Whoduniter, by Helena Mas, received the ‘Audience award for the best presentation’ and was awarded €2,000 euros. Whoduniter provides team building activities to companies in the form of murder mysteries based on classic detective novels.
The #SpinUOC 2020 event was hosted by Agnès Busquets and Anna Bertran, with live music by Nakany Kanté and Sergi Blanch. Over the next few days finalists will take part in the SpinMeetings, a series of ten minute meetings with stakeholders that are interested in learning more about the projects and their founders.
