The Ramon Molinas Foundation and the Open University of Catalonia are reinstating the awards with the objective of providing greater visibility to the final projects of the EIMT.
The Ramon Molinas Foundation and the Open University of Catalonia are welcoming applications for the second awarding of the UOC-RMF prizes, which will recognise the best final projects of engineering technicians, engineering graduates or master’s students on Information Technology, Multimedia and Telecommunication (EIMT) programmes at an educational institution. The awards were created with the intention of increasing visibility of students recognised for their final projects, in order to put them in contact with the IT professional sector.
In contrast to the year before, the second awarding of the UOC-RMF Prizes will be divided into three categories. Prizes will be awarded to the sectors of Security and Telecommunication, Information Technology and Multimedia. The application process is open to all students that have completed, presented and passed their final project over two semesters of the academic year 2014/2015. Those interested will be able to present their work from the 13th July to the 7th September inclusive. A panel made up of academics and professionals from the sector will evaluate each of the presented projects and will chose two finalists in each category. The panel will consider the innovation of the work, its technical complexity, its applicability and utility, and the clarity and quality of the presentation.
The selected finalists will present their projects at an event on the 5th November in Barcelona. Once the cycle of presentations has finished, the panel will select the projects they want to award (one for each category) and will start the prize-giving ceremony. The best final projects will receive a cheque for 3,000 euros.
