The agreement will enable the extension of the coverage of a new sector of the city of Barcelona, the SAP Muntanya (Nord).
The Ramon Molinas Foundation and the Fundación Paliaclínic have revalidated their partnership for the realization of the Program for patients at end stage of life with social needs. The initiative will enable, for the second year, that patients who are at end stage of life and in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability can face the process with dignity and at home.
The action will help to extend the coverage of the Fundación Paliaclínic to a new sector of the city of Barcelona. It is the Sistema de Atención Primaria Muntanya (Nord). In recent months, the entity has detected an increased demand of applications from residents of this area. For this reason, it was considered appropriate to renew the collaboration with the deployment of this program.
The beneficiaries of the program, as last year, will be benefited with three types of help. First, a lending of materials will be offered. Special mattresses for patients who have to stay in bed for a long time, cranes, adjustable beds or wheelchairs, will be some of the tools that will help the patients’ care. Also, the service of a family worker to develop personalized attention tasks will be supplied. Finally, it will be offered to both the patients and their families a service of psychological support and other complementary therapies such as art therapy or music therapy.
On the other hand, the Fundación Paliaclínic has started this year a volunteer service to from collaborators. This service was born after an increased demand of people who requested to cooperate with the entity due to vocation or in appreciation for the services that sometime the Fundación Paliaclínic offered them. The new volunteers, after receiving a specific training course, will perform accompanying tasks at home.
