The collaboration between both organisations will encourage access to information and communication technology, and improve the digital skills of the women using Violeta’s accommodation services.

The unprecedented circumstances caused by covid-19 has compounded the effects of the digital divide on social cohesion and access to public services in Catalonia’s most vulnerable groups. Faced with this situation, the Ramon Molinas Foundation is collaborating with the Àmbit Prevenció Foundation to promote equal opportunities, with the aim of encouraging access to information and communication technology and improve the digital skills of the women using Violeta’s accommodation services. The women that use the shelter are disadvantaged women that have been victims of domestic violence.

The collaboration between the two organisations will help to bridge the digital divide for the women that use the residential resources at Violeta and provide training to improve their digital skills. It will also empower the women to make use of information and communication technology to exercise their rights and access basic resources using digital tools.

The Àmbit Prevenció Foundation was born in 1993 with the aim of improving the reality and quality of life for people at risk of social exclusion. With its base in Sants-Montjuic, the organisation supports and empowers people to become active in their own transformation. Recently, the foundation has specialised in the care of women that have suffered from violence in any form. The accommodation services at the Àmbit Prevenció Foundation support recuperation process and empowerment of disadvantaged women.
