Those awarded the RMF: Scholarship in English for Young Learners at the British Council last year will have the opportunity to extend their grant for the academic year 2015-2016.

The Ramon Molinas Foundation and the British Council have agreed to reinstate the RMF: Scholarship in English for Young Learners at the British Council. The programme, which started in the last academic year, 2014-2015, promotes the continued education of advanced English with the objective of encouraging the social integration of young people who achieve academic excellence and have great ability, but also come from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds. This year, the RMF and the British Council will offer a total of 25 grants to students between 14 and 18 years old.

The recipients of first round of RMF: Scholarship in English for Young Learners at the British Council grants, who made the most of the award thanks to their efforts, determination and good attitude, will be given the opportunity to extend it for the academic year 2015-2016. The remaining grants will be awarded to young people chosen by the Government of Catalonia Department of Education, who will once again be in charge of finding and selecting candidates.

The students who enrol on the RMF: Scholarship in English for Young Learners at the British Council enjoy the advantages which come with learning and perfecting English. It will prepare them for a life in English and they will have the opportunity to become more international. The programme will take the shape of three weekly hours of in-houses classes which the students can choose according to their timetable. In addition, the agreement between RMF, the British Council and the Government of Catalonia Department of Education will grant them the opportunity to transform the environment in which they develop, through interacting with new classmates in the institution’s Bonanova centre. The recipients of the programme will see their grant extended for the coming years as long as they continue to make the most of it.
