The María Agustí Foundation and the Child Hemiparesis Association invites travellers on Line 7 of the Madrid underground to undergo a journey of consciousness.
The Ramon Molinas Foundation is collaborating with the María Agustí Foundation and the Child Hemiparesis Association with the aim of implementing an awareness campaign on hemiparesis featured on the Madrid metro. From 9th to 22nd December 2015, passengers on Line 7 of the Madrid underground will undergo a journey of consciousness. From the stops Hospital de Henares to Pitis, the Metro Channel and advertising on the orange line will be providing information and making passengers aware of these disorders.
Moreover, in the crowded stop of Gregorio Marañón, the María Agustí Foundation and the Child Hemiparesis Association have created a stand attended by volunteers where, apart from providing information, they have organised activities in the form of short stories, magic tricks and other surprises for the little ones. The campaign asks passengers to spread the word about the initiative on social networks by posting a selfie with the tag #hemihéroes. In the snapshot, travellers get to dress up and pose in a superhero’s mask and cape, which they can get at the stall. With this campaign, both organisations wanted to highlight the difficulties that children affected by hemiparesis, a form of child cerebral palsy which limits movement in half of the body, have to face and overcome on a daily basis.
The scheme is part of the solidarity campaign In line with those who need it most organised by the Madrid metro and promoted by its employees, an initiative which has supported twelve causes using the twelve underground train lines as a mouthpiece.
