The RMF and Paliaclínic Foundation will reinstate, for the fifth year running, their collaboration to care for and support socioeconomically vulnerable patients so they are able to confront the process with dignity.
250 people, including patients and family members, will benefit from the Home care programme for patients with social needs at the final stage of life in 2017. For the fifth consecutive year, the Ramon Molinas Foundation and the Paliaclínic Foundation have reinstated their collaboration agreement to care for and support socioeconomically vulnerable patients in their final stage of life, so that they, and their families, are able to confront the process in their own home and with dignity.
The beneficiaries of the programme will be provided with three types of assistance. Firstly, they will have access to an equipment loan service. Special mattresses for patients who have to spend long periods of time in bed, cranes, adjustable beds or wheelchairs are just some of the devices that will facilitate patient care. Secondly, they will be provided with the service of a social worker to carry out personalised care tasks. Finally, alongside their families, they will be offered an emotional support service through visits from a psychologist and other complementary treatments such as art therapy and music therapy.
The Home care programme for patients with social needs at the final stage of life is present in the areas of Barcelona Nord and Barcelona Dreta, made up of the districts of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Gràcia, Horta-Guinardó, Nou Barris, Sant Andreu, la Dreta de l’Eixample and Sant Martí.
