The students chosen will present their works in the course of the ceremony of the first edition of the awards which will be held on 20th November next in the CosmoCaixa Museum.
The finalists have been selected for the first edition of the UOC-RMF Awards. Parenòs-tic: Imagen y diseño gráfico de la aplicación móvil de un almanaque (Image and graphic design of the mobile application of an almanac), by Antònia Lorente Bibiloni; Verificación y gestión de facturas electrónicas en un teléfono Android (Checking and management of electronic invoices on an Android telephone) by María José Moreno de Frutos; Aplicación web para el control y la monitorización de una piscina (Web application to control and monitor swimming pools), by Sergio León Esquivel; World of Wars, by Albert Fabregat Hernando; Sistema de alarma y monitorización ambiental con gestión remota para entornos críticos (Alarm and environmental monitoring system with remote management for critical environments), by Sergio Gómez Espin and La ciudad en el contexto de la Internet de las cosas (The city in the context of the Internet of things), by Esteban Roman Castellanos, have been selected as the best final works by students from the Information Technology, Multimedia and Telecommunications programmes of the Open University of Catalonia.
The six finalists will present their works in an event that will take place on November 20th, at 5pm, in the CosmoCaixa Museum in Barcelona. Once the presentations have been made, a panel composed of seven academics and professionals from the ICT sector will select the best three works. The jury will consider the innovation of the work, its technical complexity, its applicability and usefulness, the clarity of the report and the presentation and exposition of same. The best work presented will win €5,000. The second prize will receive €3,000 and the third will be awarded €2,000.
Mr José Luis Solla, IT expert, Mr Josep Dueso, RMF board member, and Mr Josep Prieto, head of the faculty of Information Technology, Multimedia and Telecommunications at the Open University of Catalonia will be speakers at the first edition of the UOC-RMF Awards. The event will close with a drinks reception for the attendees.
