Students aged between 14 and 18, with a good academic level and socioeconomic difficulties will follow a course in the British Council.

The Ramon Molinas Foundation and the British Council, in collaboration with the Department of Education of the government of Catalonia, are offering 25 scholarships to students aged between 14 and 18 to foster the learning of English during the first semester of 2015. The programme, called RMF: English Scholarship for young learners at the British Council, promotes learning through English and seeks to promote the social integration of those young people who have an excellent academic level, great aptitude and who come from difficult socioeconomic backgrounds. To select the most suitable profiles for the programme, the RMF: English Scholarship for young learners at the British Council will have the support of the Department of Education of the Government of Catalonia.

The students following the RMF: English Scholarship for young learners at the British Council will enjoy the advantages that learning and perfecting English entails. They will prepare themselves for life in English and will have the opportunity to become more internationalised. Likewise the agreement between the RMF, the British Council and the Department of Education of the government of Catalonia will grant them the opportunity to transform the environment in which they are growing up through interaction with their new companions from the centre that the institution has in the Bonanova neighbourhood of Barcelona. The students participating in the programme will have their scholarship extended for the coming years depending on how much they benefit from it. In this way, high level continuous training will be offered to perfect their English.

The British Council was founded in the United Kingdom in 1934 with the aim of promoting knowledge of the English language to foster cultural, technological and scientific cooperation worldwide. Awarded the Princess of Asturias Award for notable achievements in communication and humanities in 2005, it provides English courses at all levels so that students can progress from a basic level until reaching the command required to opt for the Proficiency certificate granted by Cambridge English.
