The graduates of the Foundation’s scholarship holders have successfully completed their inter-university Master of Information Technology and Communications.

The first class of graduates awarded with RMF scholarships have completed their master’s degrees. Five of the six students who started the inter-university master’s in Information Technology and Communications (MISTIC) in February 2014 have successfully completed their studies. One of them, Halena de Carmen Rojas, has also become the first visually impaired student to be awarded the postgraduate university degree.

Halena de Carmen Rojas, who specialised in the management of information security systems, states that she is very grateful for the opportunity that RMF provided her: “Without the scholarship I would not have been able to complete the MISTIC. The skills which I’ve acquired have opened doors to so many opportunities,” she stated. The Venezuelan, who studied the master’s at the Latin American campus of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), is now unemployed and has explained that, “I would like a company to offer me the opportunity to put my potential into practice and believe in my capabilities, just as the Ramon Molinas Foundation have.” Halena’s graduation would not have been possible without her attitude. It also wouldn’t have been possible without the facilities of the educational centre. UOC staff adapted the tools of the master’s programme of study to the needs of each student.

Six scholarships were awarded to the students of the inter-university Master of Information Technology and Communications with the highest level of performance and motivation, from more than 70 participants on the programme of study. Three of those who were awarded scholarships were from the Catalan campus, and the other three from the Latin American campus.

The Master of Information Technology and Communications offers academically rigorous training to a high level. The programme of study is designed for university graduates who want to specialise in computer security. After the positive approval and results of the first year, the Ramon Molinas Foundation will offer new scholarships for those studying the MISTIC next autumn. All university graduates with a good resume, have motivation and enthusiasm for learning, and can complete the study of the MISTIC in one year can apply for one of the scholarships offered. The Ramon Molinas Foundation and the Open University of Catalonia will release information about the scholarship award process, which will cover the cost of student enrolment, over the next few months.
