The project encourages university graduates to enter the field of social action.

The project ‘Careers in Social Action’ (Promoción Laboral de la Acción Social – PLAS) was designed by the Ramon Molinas Foundation to establish a bridge between academic and professional worlds. The initiative, which is now in its second year, encourages university graduates to enter the field of social action. This year, the Marianao Foundation will be taking on a social education graduate who will join the Casal Infantil de Marianao and the Punto de Partida programme as part of the Sant Boi de Llobregat organisation.

Thanks to close collaboration since 2012 with leading figures in the social sector, the RMF has identified projects managed by organisations in the field of social action that need to hire new team members, taking on the task of finding the best candidates to fill the vacancies. The Ramon Molinas Foundation is looking for young people that are proactive, collaborative and want to work in the sector of social action, to present to organisations that will make the final decision. Organisations are therefore able to benefit from employing young people that are exceptionally prepared, motivated, and capable of thinking critically about how to respond to current and future challenges.

The Ramon Molinas Foundation supports the organisation throughout the placement programme and covers the cost to the organisation of the new employee for the first six months of the contract. When the six months are up, organisations can extend the contract if the employee has proved themselves and their capabilities in the work required.

The first cycle of Careers in Social Action was a great success. The Surt Foundation, an organisation that works towards promoting the economic, social and cultural rights of women and to eradicate sex-based discrimination, benefited from the work of a young person that led the Equinova Project. When the six-month period came to an end, the Surt Foundation decided to extend the person’s contract.
