For the sixth consecutive year, the Ramon Molinas Foundation will continue to help to transform the social and personal environment of children and young people through sports in the area of Nou Barris.
The Ramon Molinas Foundation will be continuing its work with the Babar Sports Association. Linked to the Pare Manel Foundation, the organisation’s mission is to transform the social and personal environment of children and young people that live in the areas of Guineueta, Canyelles, Roquetes, Verdum, Prosperitat and Trinitat Nova through sports. The project organises futsal practice and training sports teams in which children and young people are able to foster interpersonal relationships, as well as bonds with the coaches and representatives that become educational mentors for the project’s participants.
Over the season 2018-2019, the Babar Sports Association will manage 17 teams. Of these, 11 are school teams and 6 are federal. The groups will be made up of a total of 200 children and young people aged 6 and 18 years old. Through sport, the participants can work on values such as responsibility, respect, friendship and creativity. The project counts on the involvement of 50 people including coaches, representatives, coordinators and collaborators, and this year, will take place in the Institut Escola Antaviana, at the Institut La Guineueta and at the Institut Escola Turó de Roquetes due to refurbishment at the La Guineueta Sports Complex.
The project helps its members to develop their independence and encourages them to take responsibility for their decisions. It takes pride in its close community and strong links with the neighbourhood and works hard to create an environment which will allow the community network to thrive: by bringing people together.
