The Open University of Catalonia has chosen the president of the RMF to be awarded the Equit@t Prize.
Anne Topping, president of the Ramon Molinas Foundation, has received the ‘Prize for Professional Achievement in a Technological Field’ as part of the Equit@t Prizes. Awarded by the Information Technology, Multimedia and Telecommunication Studies (EIMT) department and the Equality Unit at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), the award recognises her skills in entrepreneurship, her values, prestige, and success achieved over her career.

After receiving the award, the Ramon Molinas Foundation president encouraged women to “build their academic and professional careers in a technical field”. In an area where women are underrepresented, Anne Topping states that women should “believe in themselves and take advantage of every opportunity, because any woman can reach her goals, even more so with the promising future that lays ahead”.
“I am extraordinarily grateful for the award and for the work of the UOC in equality, and I am pleased to announce that the Ramon Molinas Foundation will continue to collaborate with the Equit@t Prize so it can be awarded for many years to come”, the president of the RMF revealed at the end of her speech.
Originally from England and with a degree in Mathematics and Information technology, Anne Topping moved to Spain in 1973. Seven years later, together with Ramón Molinas, she founded Internacional Periféricos y Memorias España (IPM), a company which pioneers technology infrastructure.
The Equit@t Prize is part of the Equality Plan at UOC. As well as recognising professional achievement in the field of technology, the scheme distinguishes initiatives that promote activities and demonstrate good practice towards creating equality in the academic and professional spheres of IT in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.
