On the 1st December, the third UOC-RMF Prizes awards ceremony took place in the Palau Macaya in Barcelona. The Ramon Molinas Foundation and the Open University of Catalonia awarded prizes to the best final projects in Information technology, Multimedia and Security and Telecommunications to EIMT students at the UOC, in the categories of ‘best business project’, ‘best project with social impact’, and ‘best research project of academic excellence’. The OUC-RMF Prizes encourage technological and scientific entrepreneurship with the aim of inspiring and launching good ideas which improve society. The winners received a cheque for 3,000 euros and the recognition of having completed the best projects of their academic year. The winners, by category, were:
UOC-RMF Prize for the category ‘best business project’.
Iván Martí, PaintXYZ: Painting reality through virtual worlds.
UOC-RMF Prize for the category ‘best project with social impact’.
Cristóbal Selma, Makit Humbot S: Open-source robot based on Arduino and printed in 3D.
UOC-RMF Prize for the category ‘best research project of academic excellence’.

However, the UOC-RMF Prizes don’t only recognise the finalists’ projects. The Ramon Molinas Foundation and the Open University of Catalonia will provide 27 of the best projects with the opportunity to make their initiatives a reality. From January onwards they will have the opportunity to participate in the entrepreneurship and innovation workshops given through Hubbik, a collaborative ecosystem created by the UOC with the aim of stimulating innovative projects and supporting the transfer of knowledge.
