The RMF and the Paliaclínic Foundation are renewing their collaboration in order to attend to and support socioeconomically vulnerable patients so that they are able to face the process with dignity.
250 people, made up of both patients and families, will benefit from the Home care programme for patients with social needs at the final stage of life in 2016. For the fourth consecutive year, the Ramon Molinas Foundation and the Paliaclínic Foundation have renewed their collaboration to attend to and support socioeconomically vulnerable patients in their final stage of life, and their families, so that they are able to face the process with dignity, and in their own homes.
The beneficiaries of the programme will be provided with three types of assistance. Firstly, they will have access to an equipment loan service. Special mattresses for patients who have to spend long periods of time in bed, cranes, adjustable beds or wheelchairs are some of the devices that will facilitate patient care. Secondly, they will be provided with the service of a social worker to carry out personalised care tasks. Finally, alongside their families, they will be offered emotional support through visits from a psychologist and other complementary treatments such as art therapy and music therapy.
The Home care programme for patients with social needs at the final stage of life is present in the areas of Barcelona Nord and Barcelona Dreta, made up of the districts of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Gràcia, Horta-Guinardó, Nou Barris, la Dreta de l’Eixample, Sant Martí and Sant Andreu.
